Lovely... did you use a ND filter?

That's the most disadvantage I see with my TZ7: no change to use filters with it...

And I still cannot decide which DSLR to buy, I kinda tend more towards Nikon than Canon, but then I was told that the new Canon with the new 2 zoom lenses (that should hit the stores in about a month, the case itself, or with one zoom lens is there already... )
*sigh*

No, the only filter I use for my water images is a circular polarizer.

Then it was dark enough to have a long exposure time?
When I remember right, a polarizer doesn't reduces the brightness very much, yes?

Correct, it was overcast and raining.

Yeah, by now I realized, when it's overcast and raining, you can do HDR like shots with architecture (with my camera using a way underexposed shot to get a decent sky, and a normal one or even slightly overexposed one for the house/whatever you shot) or... you shot during sunrise or sunset, or... in the forest.

All other shots might look a okay as grey-scale / black and white or sepia ones, but just look bland as colour shots...

At least that is my experience, and by now I know that the eye not get the time at sunset or sunrise because our eyes tend to compensate the warm/cold colour extremes while the camera shots them like they are...
I already missed a good time shooting in Bamberg during sunset because the colours still looked bland to my eyes, waiting for the sunset and the colours to get interesting... (overcast and dull weather... just like today...)

:hmm: Maybe I should write a tut for all that... after I finally made the "pseudo HDR with GIMP" one out of the other shots from "My Street"

Anyway, what do you think of this one: Fuerth Bahnhofsplatz
I know it's "one time" [ 1 ] overexposed, I also took a 2nd shot that is just 1/3 parts overexposed, but I liked this one better...

_____________
[ 1 ] I have no idea how you phrase that right in English, this is just a translation from how we say it in German... I was not able to look that up in an online dictionary, seems too technical...
